At AI Policy Exchange, we are constantly on the lookout for people who have demonstrated expertise in AI policy and governance. We solicit their engagement with the AI Policy Exchange Editorial Network as Technical / Policy Experts to expand our in-house range of expertise on AI policy and governance. We utilize this in-house expertise to achieve our editorial mission of informing everyday citizens on the most pressing issues around AI policy and governance.
We envision the role of our Technical / Policy Experts as one involving the use of their expertise and that of the AI Policy Exchange platform to initiate and lead discourses on topical and the yet unrecognized issues around AI policy and governance. To ensure that these discourses cover wide-ranging standpoints, we have our Technical / Policy Experts come from the most diverse backgrounds at the intersection of regional identity, nationality, racial identity, institutional affiliation (both public and private), and of course, gender identity.
Technical / Policy Experts at AI Policy Exchange may engage with AI Policy Exchange (on a pro bono basis) in one or more of the following ways:
(a) By contributing to the core editorial work at AI Policy Exchange; writing simple, insightful blogs on topical issues around AI policy and governance for our readers; reviewing and editing blogs received by AI Policy Exchange that demand technical evaluation and editing; and
(b) By contributing to the in-house projects and publications at AI Policy Exchange; projects may take the form of online discussions organized by AI Policy Exchange (e.g., interview sessions, panel discussions, workshops, webinars, etcetera); publications may take the form of documents that consolidate and simplify the ongoing scholarly communications and technical / policy debates around the development, deployment, and use of artificially intelligent technologies (e.g., What’s Up With AI Ethics?); projects may take the form of content generation to inform perspectives on the hardest questions confronting the governance of artificially intelligent technologies (e.g., AI Policy Exchange Expert Vlogging Series 1.0)
(c) By popularizing AI Policy Exchange in their networks to maximize the beneficial reach and impact of projects undertaken and publications brought out by AI Policy Exchange.
